We work with the Department of War to provide the high-speed capabilities our nation and its allies need to maintain a durable, asymmetric advantage.</div><div><br></div><div> <h3>About The Role:&nbsp;</h3> </div> <div>As a Propulsion Test Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with high-performance propulsion systems, supporting engine and system-level testing. You will work closely with engineers and technicians to set up test campaigns, monitor data, and troubleshoot issues, directly contributing to Hermeus’ hypersonic development efforts.</div> <div> <div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Fall: Around 16 weeks (August - December)</div> </div> </div><h3>Responsibilities:</h3> <li>Work alongside experienced engineers to assist in designing, setting up, and operating test stands, learning the fundamentals of propulsion system testing.</li> <li>Help instrument test setups, monitor test conditions, and analyze performance data to contribute to system improvements and troubleshooting efforts.</li> <li>Partner with engineers and technicians to refine test processes, enhance safety procedures, and develop a deeper understanding of propulsion systems in a real-world testing environment.</li> <h3>Requirements:</h3> <li>Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects.</li> <li>Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program).</li> <li>Strong interest in propulsion systems and testing.</li> <li>Strong understanding of engineering first principles.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.</li> <li>Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>GPA of 3.0 or above.</li>
